What does the CCA involve?

The CCA evaluates your clinical reasoning skills and knowledge.

  • It focuses on enhancing your clinical reasoning in the neuromusculoskeletal assessment and treatment of the head, face, and neck regions.
  • You will be individually assessed on your ability to evaluate and treat patients with complex head, neck, or facial pain.

Cca 3

What steps are involved?

You can choose between two options for completing the CCA:

Option 1: Submit a Recorded Assessment

  • Record your subjective and objective assessment, as well as a trial treatment of your patient, in your own clinical setting.
  • Demonstrate your clinical reasoning process and the steps you take during treatment.
  • Fill out the Clinical Reasoning Form (CRF), which includes reflective questions to summarize your approach to the patient.
  • Submit your video and CRF to a CRAFTA® teacher for review.

Option 2: Face-to-Face Assessment

  • Schedule an in-person CCA session with a CRAFTA® teacher.
  • Bring your own patient or a demo patient to the session.
  • Follow the same steps as in Option 1.

What happens during the CCA appointment?

Cca 2

  • The CRF and video will be discussed in a 60-90-minute virtual or in-person appointment.
  • Together with the CRAFTA® teacher, you will review your patient study, treatment strategies, and CRF responses.
  • You will also be asked to demonstrate specific techniques during the session.

Within 7 days after the CCA, you will receive your final evaluation, including feedback and the points earned for your portfolio.
